Can the frequent use of Xylocaine 2% gel have side effects?

I am a 30-year-old married man. To delay my ejaculation, I apply Xylocaine 2% gel on my penis before intercourse. The gel lessens the sensitivity of my penis and I can enjoy sex for a longer period. Can the frequent use of this gel have any side effects? Please advise.

    With limited amount and occasional use, there will be no side effects.
